Trainings

TrainingTrauma-informed systems and services thoroughly incorporate an understanding of trauma– including its consequences and conditions that support healing– in all aspects of service delivery.

Human service programs can raise overall staff awareness by making specific modifications in both administrative and service-level practice to better respond to the needs and strengths of those with personal experiences of trauma. A corresponding shift in providers’ attitude, practice and setting welcomes, engages and sustains helpful relationships with trauma survivors seking servics.

Trauma-informed guiding principles are:

  • Safety
  • Trustworthiness
  • Choice
  • Collaboration
  • Empowerment
  • Language access
  • Cultural competence
