Youth Involvement

Youth Involvement
Youth Involvement in systems of care means that youth, families and agencies realize that youth have the right to be empowered, educated, and given a decision-making role regarding their own care as well as the policies and procedures governing care for all youth in their community. Youth are invited to participate as active partners in guiding the systems that serve them. This is achieved by developing strong youth adult partnerships and finding meaningful ways for youth to participate in creating change in themselves, service systems and their community which they are a part of. Systems of care often break this involvement down into three categories:

* Youth-Guided * Youth-Directed * Youth-Driven *
